England registered a comprehensive victory over team India by 10 wickets in the mouth-watering semi-final clash in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. Following the exit, team India have received a lot of flak from the fans and members of the cricketing fraternity for the poor display against the Three Lions.

Former England international Michael Vaughan blasted the Men in Blue and questioned as to what had the team done since the historic 50-over win in the 2011 Cricket World Cup.

“India are the most under-performing white-ball team in history. Every player in the world who goes to the Indian Premier League says how it improves their game but what have India ever delivered? Since winning the 50 over World Cup on home soil in 2011 what have they done? Nothing. India are playing a white-ball game that is dated and have done for years,” wrote Vaughan in his column for The Telegraph.

Speaking about the match, the English skipper, Jos Buttler put the Indian side to bat first after winning the toss at the Adelaide Oval. Despite losing two wickets early on in the match, the middle-order batters, Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya registered fifties to their name that handed the side a respectable total of 168 in their 20 overs.

In response, the English openers Jos Buttler and Alex Hales hit the ground running and wasted no time in their chase. As they kept building a solid partnership, the pressure slowly began mounting on the Men in Blue bowlers.

Rohit Sharma-led team India were toyed with by the duo and to make matters worse, the fielding was underwhelming as well which proved to be costly as India were unable to scalp even a single wicket. Buttler and Hales relished a magnificent 170-run stand to guide their side to the finals of the marquee event where they take on Pakistan at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
