Pakistani skipper Babar Azam has taken the internet by storm amid rumors of a sexting scandal with the girlfriend of one of his Pakistani teammates. Babar already had been under scrutiny due to his recent outings with the team as the captain as Pakistan lost multiple matches across formats, and failed to bag a memorable win.

Pakistan hosted England for a three-match Test series last month but failed to put up a good performance as they ended up losing all three games. After the humiliating series whitewash, they hosted New Zealand for two Tests, but both games ended in stalemate. The Kiwis then bagged a 2-1 victory in the ODI series and handed Pakistan another defeat at home.

Just a few hours after the news of Babar’s sexting scandal surfaced, the Pakistani all-format captain shared a picture of himself on Twitter, with the caption: “Doesn’t take too much to be happy.”

Looking at the picture, one wouldn’t say that Babar is bothered by the rumors. The videos and images that were leaked online showed Babar’s face, making it very difficult to believe that the cricketer could do so because there was an uncanny resemblance. This matter surely won’t be taken lightly by the Pakistani board, and further details upon the same will be awaited.

Although no one has confirmed the veracity of these audios or images, the situation has just gotten worse due to the resemblance. Social media is polarised as a result, and the situation has become very serious. While some of his admirers are defending him, others are pointing fingers at his character.

On the other hand, Babar Azam’s fans and followers have been very supportive of him amid all the controversy. Many of them believe that the in-form batter has been framed in the matter, and things have been planned to damage the cricketer’s and the team’s reputation. The incident came to light when multiple pictures, videos, and audio were leaked on social media.
